1. Do I have to sign a contract? [top]
Yes. Within the terms of the contract the client has the freedom to increase, decrease, or stop the service at any time without penalty. A client may also change a personal attendant at any time if the need arises. Our service is designed around the changing needs of seniors and we answer that with our flexibility.
2. Why would I choose an agency over a registry? [top]
In choosing an agency you become our client, which enables us to act as your case manager. A registry can make a referral only, with no authority to dictate schedules, make reliever placements, or troubleshoot as needs change. Additionally, a registry pays no taxes on their personal attendants, no workman's compensation or liability insurance coverage. An agency employs its personal attendants and as such covers workman's compensation and liability insurance, pays taxes and maintains the authority to work with families in seeing that all needs are met.
3. How many personal attendants will Salus send? [top]
Salus believes in continuity. In most cases we are able to settle on 2 different personal attendants; a primary and secondary personal attendant.
4. Does Salus pre-screen their personal attendants? [top]
Yes. All Salus personal attendants are bonded and insured and are carefully screened for criminal records, DMV violations, and reference checks.
5. How does Salus choose their personal attendants? [top]

6. Can I change personal attendants if I wish? [top]
Yes, at any time. Though Salus believes we have an unmatched record for assigning the best personal attendants to meet each client's individual needs, situations can change. So every client retains the right to select or change their personal attendant at all times.
7. How soon can homecare begin? [top]
In most cases, Salus can have a personal attendant in your home and case manager assigned within 24 hours. The best way to ensure immediate care is to arrange a meeting with a Salus staff member before you or your loved one leaves the hospital or rehabilitation center. Salus will then perform a free home assessment to ensure the homecare is the best it can be right from day one.
8. Will I be able to talk to a live person when I call? [top]
Yes. You will be given the cell number of your case manager, which will remain on 24 hours per day.
9. Can I get objective advice if I decide homecare isn't for me? [top]
Yes. We know homecare isn't for everyone. We take pleasure in providing good information and referrals.
