Salus Spiritual Support During Hospice Care

Spirituality means different things to all of us. For some, it involves participating in an organized religion, and for others, it simply refers to honoring an individual’s sense of purpose and connection to some greater purpose. When faced with a terminal illness, many individuals begin to question the deeper meaning of life and their own spiritual existence. Responses can vary from sadness to isolation or even becoming extremely hyper and needing constant attention. At Salus Homecare of Maricopa County, we recognize the importance of nurturing a hospice patient’s spiritual side and provide a variety of services that can help.

Even when a client is not religious, it is still beneficial to nurture and support their spirituality. The body, mind and spirit are deeply connected.

Salus Homecare of Maricopa County’s spiritual support is offered in a sensitive, confidential way that provides comfort and reassurance. While we never force any client to accept spiritual support, it remains available should they choose to address their own questions, concerns or needs.

I work at an assisted living home. I’ve been doing this work for a long time, seen a lot of hospice. Salus came in and got to know my resident and all of us. The communication with the nurses is amazing. Whenever I had a question or concern, I could call or text and know in minutes. My resident had something to look forward to weekly with the pampering of the shower aide not just a shower or bath, but nails and massage. I would recommend this company to everybody. Thank you so much for the great care. We look forward to working together again.

My father entered hospice with Salus in Arizona in September 2023. The Arizona staff has been tremendous with him! He is always treated with respect and dignity. Sometimes he has asked to forgo his bath in order just to talk to his aide. And they all take the time to listen. As I do not reside in Arizona, I appreciate the abundant communication with his “team” who check in with me and keep me up to date with his needs. I would highly recommend Salus to anyone in the Phoenix area.
