Even when a client is not religious, it is still beneficial to nurture and support their spirituality. Nurturing spirituality helps many individuals to maintain a sense of purpose in the final moments of life, and it can play a part in helping individuals to manage any uncomfortable physical symptoms. The body, mind and spirit are deeply connected.
Salus Homecare of Maricopa County’s spiritual support is offered in a sensitive, confidential way that provides comfort and reassurance. While we never force any client to accept spiritual support, it remains available should they choose to address their own questions, concerns or needs.
Nikki S. Maricopa County April 11, 2024I work at an assisted living home. I’ve been doing this work for a long time, seen a lot of hospice. Salus came in and got to know my resident and all of us. The communication with the nurses is amazing. Whenever I had a question or concern, I could call or text and know in minutes. My resident had something to look forward to weekly with the pampering of the shower aide not just a shower or bath, but nails and massage. I would recommend this company to everybody. Thank you so much for the great care. We look forward to working together again.
Karen S. Maricopa County Apr 11, 2024My father entered hospice with Salus in Arizona in September 2023. The Arizona staff has been tremendous with him! He is always treated with respect and dignity. Sometimes he has asked to forgo his bath in order just to talk to his aide. And they all take the time to listen. As I do not reside in Arizona, I appreciate the abundant communication with his “team” who check in with me and keep me up to date with his needs. I would highly recommend Salus to anyone in the Phoenix area.

No, hospice spiritual support is non-denominational. We will never push you to change your beliefs and are simply there to provide you with support.
No, we encourage you to remain connected to your place of worship and will take steps to support that. Our chaplains can also provide additional resources that are in line with your beliefs.
This is something that often becomes increasingly important to individuals in the end stages of life. Many people benefit by writing in a journal and reflecting on their personal accomplishments and the things they have enjoyed doing. Others find art mediums such as music, painting, knitting or building with clay to be helpful. Salus Homecare of Maricopa County’s hospice chaplains can offer other suggestions that might help you to find the peace and sense of purpose that you are searching for.
