As the primary caregiver for a child with medically complex needs, it might feel selfish to make “me time” a priority, however, doing so helps to ensure that you remain happy and healthy and it makes you a better caregiver too. Salus Pediatric Respite Care can help you to confidently spend time away and take those essential breaks knowing your child is safe and in trusted hands.

Many health insurance plans will cover respite care to support the family of a medically fragile child. Salus is a preferred provider for most. We are also a preferred provider for the state Medicaid program and its managed care programs, MCCW and the Travis C. Waiver. Our team will happily assist you in determining eligibility and filing claims.
Per the Utah Department of Health, this waiver serves the following population: A child between the ages of 0 and 18, with three or more specialty physicians, with three or more organ systems involved in the disability, a child who has SSI Disability Designation and/or a child who is not meeting age appropriate milestones. While this might seem complex, please know our team will work with you to help determine eligibility and file all paperwork.
Respite care services are specifically designated for your child with complex medical needs. Any other child will need to be attended to by another family member or sitter.
