Spiritual Hospice Support Provided:

Spirituality isn’t simply one thing. For some, it’s an attachment to an organized religion or specific denomination. For others, it’s self-reflection and feelings of inner peace. In hospice care, it’s common for patients to want to feel more connected to their spiritual side, reflecting on their own beliefs and ideas related to purpose or an afterlife. This is why many take part in deep contemplation that brings with it a lot of questioning and sometimes, some difficult emotions. At Salus Homecare of South Bay, our hospice chaplain works individually with each patient so you can find your path toward nurturing, spiritual exploration and contentment.

Spiritual Support FAQ's

If you don’t see your question, please give us a call: (888) 725-8742

No, there are no religious requirements for spiritual support. Our hospice chaplain will offer support in a non-denominational and non-judgmental way. Our goal is to help you develop tools that assist with comfort, strength and hope. We recognize that this means different things to different people and respect each person’s views on spirituality.

Yes. Our goal is not to take the place of your spiritual home. Rather, we hope to supplement the support they offer you and make it easier for you to access their services and care. We are happy to work in conjunction with your chaplain and encourage you to find the best path toward spiritual strength and comfort in your own individual way.

Salus Homecare South Bay’s hospice team has many different resources available for our clients. Our hospice chaplain will be happy to discuss them with you and make recommendations for reading materials, videos or other such materials. Some other options for finding inner peace include journaling, working with various art mediums or listening to music. We encourage you to explore any or all of these resources and will be happy to help guide you in any way possible.
