When considering spirituality, it is important to recognize this does not have to mean a certain religion. These nurturing services are available to patients of all denominations and even those who prefer not to follow any organized religion. They can help you to feel more connected and in touch with your inner self. Spiritual services also often help children and adults to manage uncomfortable emotional or physical symptoms so they can enjoy a higher quality of life.
Salus chaplains are sensitive, non-judgmental and ready to provide support on your terms. No patient is ever forced to accept spiritual care, but these loving and compassionate services are ones that many find beneficial.

No, there are no religious requirements for spiritual support. Our hospice chaplain will offer support in a non-denominational and non-judgmental way. Our goal is to help you develop tools that assist with comfort, strength and hope. We recognize that this means different things to different people and respect each person’s views on spirituality.
Yes. Our goal is not to take the place of your spiritual home. Rather, we hope to supplement the support they offer you and make it easier for you to access their services and care. We are happy to work in conjunction with your chaplain and encourage you to find the best path toward spiritual strength and comfort in your own individual way.
Salus Homecare Utah’s hospice team has many different resources available for our clients. Our hospice chaplain will be happy to discuss them with you and make recommendations for reading materials, videos or other such materials. Some other options for finding inner peace include journaling, working with various art mediums or listening to music. We encourage you to explore any or all of these resources and will be happy to help guide you in any way possible.
