As death nears, many families are faced with some tough decisions regarding end of life planning. Having a supportive professional available to listen and answer questions helps many to ease the burdens they are faced with, develop new coping skills, reduce stress and regain a sense of peace in the household.
After one of our clients passes, the need for emotional support often continues for the family. Salus Homecare of Orange County’s hospice social workers and bereavement counselors remain available to provide comfort, opportunities to reminisce and a chance for healing. This extended support is appreciated by many of our clients and part of the reason they choose to use our services.

Our caregiver was wonderful, helpful, and couldn’t have been more helpful in all needs that could have been provided!

Thank you for assigning us your caring bath aide for my husband. Having home care, I had numerous opportunities to observe him perform his tasks, coupled with tenderness for my husband. He always operated from the standpoint of personal and professional excellence. His assets, responsibilities, and pride showed a strong work ethic. He was always respectful, caring, patient, calm, sensitive, competent, knowledgeable, and thorough. He was of great value to us and therefore a great value to Salus.

Feeling scared is normal for many people facing a terminal illness. At Salus Homecare, our Orange County social workers are trained to help you to cope with these negative feelings so that they do not consume you in the final months, weeks and days of life. This can improve your quality of life and help you to feel more comfortable with the dying process.
Salus Homecare’s Orange County hospice is designed to provide support to every member of the family, and this includes young children. Our social workers, chaplains and other professionals can speak to children about their concerns, and referrals can be made to community resources if necessary.
Salus Homecare’s Orange County hospice does not require any client to participate in therapy, but many clients find that they benefit from it. If you choose not to speak with a social worker or another mental health professional, simply say so. If you change your mind at any point, the services will remain available to you
