  • Who will provide my home health care?

    Salus Homecare of Orange County employs registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical social workers and skilled physical, occupational and speech therapists. All of our employees undergo an extensive hiring process that includes background checks and reference checks, and they are mandated to participate in ongoing training to remain up-to-date on the latest health care advancements.

  • Is a hospitalization required to receive home health care?

    While many of our Orange County home health care clients do come to us after a hospital discharge, it is not necessary. We also receives referrals from primary care physicians and specialists on a regular basis.

  • Can a young adult take advantage of in home health services?

    Salus Homecare of Orange County’s home health is for anyone. Whether an adult is returning home after a serious car accident, a senior is trying to manage his diabetes or a college student has been diagnosed with a chronic medical condition, our skilled nursing and therapy services provide the appropriate level of care in the comfort of home.

  • How many hours a day will I receive skilled nursing or therapy services?

    The answer to this question is very individual and depends on your personal situation, speed of recovery and home health needs. Our care managers will coordinate with you, your family and medical providers in order to develop a plan of care that fully addresses your needs before determining any specific hours or schedule.

  • Will my home care nurse help with housekeeping, transportation and meal preparation?

    Home care nurses are skilled professionals with expertise in specific medical tasks. While they can assist with some ADLs during a visit, their time will mostly be devoted to meeting your medical needs. If you require regular assistance with tasks that are outside of their normal duties, Salus Homecare of Orange County can supplement your care with in home aide services.

  • I am unsure about whether I want to return home or go to a rehabilitative facility. Can you help?

    This is a personal decision, and the right answer varies for many reasons. When deciding where you would like to go after a hospitalization, think about your goals. If they include aging in place, home health care might be the right solution for you. While many facilities offer high quality care, keep in mind that only home health care provides individualized, completely customized care in the privacy of home. For many, this means more time with family and a decreased financial burden especially when dealing with a chronic medical condition.

  • I want to make sure that my doctor’s orders are followed when I return home. What is your role in that?

    Salus Homecare of Orange County’s home health team understands the importance of continuity of care, and the only way that we can ensure our clients benefit from it is by reaching out to their current care providers. As part of your initial assessment, our care manager will contact your doctor, hospital discharge planner and social worker to ask for recommendations and input. Together, and in collaboration with you and your family, we will use this information to devise an appropriate plan of care that meets all of your needs.

  • I am returning home from the hospital and need physical therapy, wound care and IV care services. How am I going to manage all of these schedules while recovering?

    At Salus Homecare of Orange County, our goal is to help you to relax and focus on your recovery. When it comes to coordinating schedules of multiple workers, we do all of the work and ensure that the professionals who enter your home come at a time that is convenient for you. Once you are our client, should you ever need to adjust the schedule or accommodate for an emergency, our care managers remain on call to assist.

  • I would like to have a loved one trained so she can participate in meeting my home health needs. Is this possible?

    Yes. Our Salus Homecare of Orange County’s skilled nurses provide family education. There are many tasks that your loved ones can assist with, and there are even some that you may be able to perform independently.

  • What happens if I recover? Is there a cancellation fee?

    Salus Homecare of Orange County never requires our customers to sign a contract. We also do not charge any fees for cancelling your services.
