Salus Spiritual Support During Hospice Care

We all view spirituality in different ways, whether that means participating in an organized religion or simply having a strong belief about your inner-self and connections to the universe. Salus of Riverside County hospice care honors all beliefs and helps individuals to find their own answers and meaning after the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness. Our non-denominational chaplains listen, provide information and resources and can help patients work through mixed emotions and complex feelings about their diagnosis and what comes next.

Even when a client believes they are not spiritual, it is often beneficial to nurture and support their inner-self and connections to something bigger than self. Nurturing spirituality helps many individuals to regain a once lost sense of purpose in the final stage of life, and it can compliment efforts to help patients better manage any discomfort or physical side effects that are associated with their illness.

Salus Homecare of Riverside County’s spiritual support is offered in a sensitive, empowering way that provides peace and comfort. While no patient is required to accept spiritual support, it remains available to any who choose to discuss and ask questions about their own thoughts, beliefs, concerns or needs.

All 3 physical therapists were excellent, and I was extremely well-advised!! So so helpful! Thank you to them all!

I was so happy to get the therapist I did. He is such a good physical therapist. He is very patient and caring. He always calls when he’s on his way. I do what exercises he tells me to do, and I already feel I’m healing.

Spiritual Support FAQ's

If you don’t see your question, please give us a call: (888) 725-8742

No, our spiritual care is non-denominational and always sensitive to believers of all denominations and non-believers too. We will never push any religious beliefs on you. Rather, our goal is to provide you with the information and support you need to find peace with your own inner-self and connection to the universe throughout this difficult time in life and in whatever way feels best for you.

No, our chaplains honor your individual beliefs and faith and understand the value in maintaining those long-term connections to your place of worship and spiritual advisers. Our services are meant to compliment the spiritual care you are already enjoying rather than to ever take its place.

This is something that often becomes especially important to all of our patients nearing the end stages of life. While there really is no cookie-cutter answer, many patients benefit by starting to journal. Writing down thoughts and ideas helps them in reflecting on life’s accomplishments and the things they have enjoyed most. Others find peace, joy and understanding in creating music, painting, drawing or molding clay. Salus Homecare of Riverside County’s hospice chaplains can offer additional suggestions that might help you to find the sense of purpose that you are searching for.
