Salus IADLs Services

While being able to perform ADLs without support or asking for appropriate assistance certainly makes aging in place a more realistic goal, managing instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) also promotes independence and a higher quality of life. These tasks include a set of skills that individuals must accomplish most days when living in the home environment.

Cognitive decline or physical limitations due to chronic conditions are the primary reason why a senior needs help with IADLs. This is also a primary cause why some move to a facility before they are ready. Having the right support makes a difference.

Salus Homecare offers one on one assistance with a variety of essential tasks. Our professional caregivers will work with you and encourage you to maintain your personal highest level of independence while providing you with reliable assistance with tasks when you need help.

As a niece who lives in the Mid-West/ Milwaukee, I could not be directly involved in my Aunt’s end of life care. I flew out to California in October 2025 and arranged 24 hour home care for her when she was ready to be released from the hospital. Because of her age (98), suffering pain and being weakened through 4 weeks of hospital stay and rehab. Hospice care was recommended by her medical team. Salus was recommended by her Home care provider. Always the best care and was also on the hospital list of approved providers. After leaving California, I felt like my Aunt was in very good hands and back home where her friends and neighbors could easily visit.

Instrumental ADLs (IADLs) FAQ's

If you don’t see your question, please give us a call: (888) 725-8742

Yes, we have many caregivers that are happy to drive you in their own car. You will be billed for mileage if a caregiver drives their own vehicle. If you prefer, and with the appropriate clearance, a caregiver is also able to drive your car. Rest assured that whether a caregiver is driving their car or yours, Salus Homecare has verified their insurance and reviewed their driving history with the DMV.

With instruction, our caregivers will adapt meal preparation to meet your doctor’s recommendations and your taste preferences. This is one of the biggest advantages of having individualized meals prepared in your home versus using a meal delivery service.

All Salus Homecare caregivers are required to maintain their own residence and will only be in your home during working hours.
