Alzheimer’s and dementia care at home is provided by Salus Homecare to give family caregivers support and make it easier for seniors to remain safe in familiar surroundings as Alzheimer’s disease progresses. Our professional caregivers develop meaningful relationships with patients and their family members, building trust and making it easier for the senior to feel comfortable accepting the help that they need.

Salus Homecare’s non-medical caregivers remind seniors to take important medications, help to schedule doctor’s visits and can accompany seniors to medical facilities when they’re seeking medical care. They also offer companionship and encourage the senior to eat healthy foods and engage in activity. In this way, our dementia caregivers oftentimes help to slow the mental and physical decline of Alzheimer’s disease, encouraging seniors to remain more independent and engaged in life for a longer period of time.

May Salus case manager and her staff were extremely helpful. My mom was very ill and on hospice and I needed help caring for her. My case manager was sympathetic to my needs and had a caregiver at my house immediately. The caregivers were wonderful and treated my mom like she was their own mother. They were highly experienced, mature and reliable. They showed up and were very attentive. (I had a bad experience with another company’s staff when my dad was on hospice, just sitting on their phones, not paying attention). Please do your research when finding good home care. There are some companies that hire low quality people, who don’t care. Salus was definitely the top of the line when it came to home care.

I work at an assisted living home. I’ve been doing this work for a long time, seen a lot of hospice. Salus came in and got to know my resident and all of us. The communication with the nurses is amazing. Whenever I had a question or concern, I could call or text and know in minutes. My resident had something to look forward to weekly with the pampering of the shower aide not just a shower or bath, but nails and massage. I would recommend this company to everybody. Thank you so much for the great care. We look forward to working together again.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Care FAQ's

If you don’t see your question, please give us a call: (888) 725-8742

Salus Homecare employs experienced non-medical caregivers with specialized training in Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our professional caregivers provide supervision and care for seniors with Alzheimer’s. In addition, many of our locations offer Medicare certified home health care, palliative care and accredited hospice care so if your loved one’s dementia care needs increase, we can continue to provide the right level of Alzheimer’s support at home. This means you won’t have to shop for a new home care provider or move your loved one to a facility in the later stages of the illness if your goal is to maintain consistent, quality care at home.

Salus Homecare can create a personalized dementia care plan for your mom that provides her with support in the areas where she needs help and reminders, encouragement, or supervision when she’s able to remain independent. It is always our goal to encourage seniors with Alzheimer’s to remain independent and only increase care when they need more help for safety or comfort.

As with all of our services, dementia support at home is designed to benefit families and empower you to maintain the schedule you want and need to keep. Our dementia care services are available anytime of day or night, and many of our non-medical caregivers have specialized knowledge and training in helping seniors to remain safe when wandering or Sundowner’s Syndrome is of concern.
