Salus Spiritual Support During Hospice Care in San Diego

Spirituality is a broad term with different meanings for different people. While many view spirituality as participating in an organized religion, this does not have to be the case. Spirituality can be a connection to self or a reflection on thoughts, values and the meaning of life. After learning of a terminal diagnosis, many individuals start to question their own spirituality. They may spend time thinking about the meaning of life or what comes after death, or they may contemplate how they have lived their life and if they are satisfied with that. Responses often vary. Salus Hospice San Diego is here to honor that. Our San Diego hospice chaplains provide nurturing, opportunities for conversation and a variety of services to help.

Spiritual Hospice Support in San Diego Provided:

Spiritual Hospice Support in San Diego Provided:

  • Non-denominational San Diego clergy support
  • Personal and family counseling in San Diego
  • Literature to help hospice patients understand or cope with spirituality
  • Assistance in accessing community hospice support groups

Some clients are not religious. However, even they often find value in nurturing their spiritual side. This can help them to regain a sense of purpose, better cope with what is ahead and even mend relationships with loved ones. Spiritual health is also often connected to physical health. Pain management is sometimes easier when spirituality is nurtured.

Salus Hospice San Diego offers spiritual support that is non-judgmental, non-denominational and sensitive. The client leads the way in spiritual conversations, and our role is to provide support in a way that is comfortable for them. Spiritual support with hospice care is not a mandatory service, but it is always available should clients wish to take advantage of it at any point in their San Diego hospice care journey.

Thank you! I wish I could have the home health team again and again! They were so professional and helpful.

Both PT and OT were very helpful in having me exercise and be sure I was ok at home. I just needed to get my strength back. This is the first time I had home care/rehab and it was very helpful. Thank you.
