2019 National Nurses Week was a time for all of us to express our appreciation for the vast contributions that nurses make for patients, families and our hospice team. These dedicated professionals spend their days touching lives, teaching skills, comforting patients and families and truly making a difference.

National Nurses Week Celebration

This year, Salus Hospice recognized National Nurses Week with a celebratory catered brunch. Our hospice nurses enjoyed individually prepared, flaky and buttery quiche, lightly sweetened scones and a medley of fresh fruit and other tasty treats.  It was our honor to show these esteemed professionals how appreciated and valued they are and to thank them for their dedication, their work and the unwavering compassion they display every day.

“Nurses are essential, valued and special in all areas of healthcare, and that’s especially true in hospice care. They nurture our patients and their families, helping them to experience dignity, respect and compassion when the end of life is near,” says Debbie Robson, Vice President and Administrator of Salus Hospice, “We appreciate every member of our nursing team today and every day and are so thankful for this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for all that they do.”

Commemorating Our Hospice Nurses

To commemorate the 2019 National Nurses week celebration, each nurse was presented with a handmade card and a Brighton nurses charm – how appropriate that a charm dangling a heart of gold should represent this caring profession and the tender love and heartfelt compassion that nurses display every day. We hope this will serve as a small symbol of the importance of the work that they do with Salus Hospice and the immense difference that they make in the lives of all the patients we serve.
